Biography

Eric Le Collen is a scenographer and artistic director for performance arts and events. He began his career in 1986, directing “La Bataille de Castillon”, and has since then created and coordinated more than 90 innovative and varied projects and events. These have included the inauguration of the Channel Tunnel, the launch of the historic Hermione ship, and performances in front of the Grande Arche in Paris. He also specialises in museum and exhibition scenography, both in France and overseas. For over 20 years, the wine world has entrusted Eric with the artistic direction of some of its most prestigious events, and the creation of permanent displays and visionary exhibition layouts, providing an original and innovative approach to wine tourism. His broad experience and knowledge of the wine industry covers the Bordeaux area, Champagne, Cahors and the Porto wineries too. In 2010, Eric joined the Bordeaux “Cité des civilisations du vin” (Center for wine and civilization) project planning team, as artistic and scenography advisor. The Center is due to open to the public in 2016. Eric Le Collen is an eclectic designer, a documentary and fiction filmmaker, and composes the music that accompanies his productions. He created the Saint-Emilion Philosophia festival and has written two books (published by Flammarion), dealing with writing instruments, one of his numerous passions.

Masquerade Grand Ball of the Opéra de Bordeaux 2016, february  
With the participation of the guest artists, the orchestra, the choir, the ballet and the teams of the Grand Théâtre, we created and produced this exceptional evening event. While focusing on the arts in general, the theme featured additional elements of fantasy, poetry and humour. This sponsors evening was organised by Arpeggio.    
 
La Cité du Vin, sponsors dinner 2016, january  
Our concept comprised a game, punctuated with surprises and emotions, where the wines, the food and the arts were transformed into clues. Guests were able to identify historical figures with a passion for wine, presented in "The Illustrious Men's Banquet". The evening ended with the premiere of the film, which will be a permanent feature exhibition.    
 
Jurade 2015, june  
Created especially for the Saint Emilion Jurade's Spring Celebration, a dining room, designed to accommodate 900 guests from around the world, was situated between the vineyards and the winery buildings. This provided an exceptional setting for the guests to enjoy Saint Emilion's wines, and the fine cuisine of Alain Passart, the famous chef of the Arpège 3-star restaurant.    
 
Libourne wine festival 2015, june  
The first edition of a wine festival was held in the exceptional surroundings of the ESOG. We designed and created the entire scenography for the event (storyboard, 3D simulations), and took care of the themed areas and artistic aspects.    
 
Château Fonplégade 2015, june  
The owners invited 100 guests, who were treated to a gastronomic stroll through the various areas of the chateau, followed by a dinner. At the end of the meal, they enjoyed an open-air concert with the winery as a backdrop, complete with custom-designed lighting. Opera singers, accompanied by a pianist, brought the evening Saint Emilion landscape to life.
